hi, this is fine. i think you all should STIR, tumble, mix your compost...
everytime you put veggie in, stir them with 
earth/worms and see around the ground
and pick some brown stuff (fallen leaves, wood chips) to cover it.
everytime with a layer of such brown stuff is necessary
