hi everyone, sorry that i missed sunday - i thought it had been called off, but maybe just some mail didnt reach me.anyhow, if there is an interest i would be happy to help with the compost filling and the exchange of compostable thoughts. to set up the exchange, i think a small table and paper sheets needed - i can bring little language cards which i used for a project for collecting fears - these cards enough to collect thoughts i think.
shall we set up a time/spot for meeting on thursday and/or friday?my phone, for any case needed: 0176 965 32584

Dear all,
yesterday, Ayumi, Tilia and I made some compost tea bottles for
the performance / installation at HKW.
who ever wants to help fill them with compost and hand them out /
trade them for "compostable" thoughts, please meet us a little bit
before the panel on Thursday and performance on Friday.
I won't be able to come to the opening tomorrow (no babysitter /
too late for Tilia).
but look forward to the panel and performance later this week!
worm regards
Alex

Hi all,
yeah, I love the idea of trading tea for thoughts!
How bout meeting at my place on Sunday from 12 to 14 or 16,
depending on how productive we are.
I will set up some space for drawing labels and preparing
containers.
(public alternatives: Bethanien? Markthalle 9?)
The "tea" is just compost – add water, shake, and give to plants
for a yummy nutritious mid-winter snack.

“EGO´S WIDOW”
performance by Pietro La Hara
‘Ego’s Widow’ is a performance piece, representing of the inner
state, by the split between true self and false self: the higher
and the lower.
It celebrates the end of an era, not only on a personal level,
but also from a global view.
It’s the triumph of feminine energy over the male dominating
structures of belief systems and politics.
It’s the advent of the Venus’s era, as a symbol of inner-deeper
beauty, rather than physical and material.
It celebrates the death of the attachments with the core values
by which the western world has established its power, the
exasperation of acquiring trough the accumulation of capital,
the fetishism of technologies.

a site specific audiovisual installation by Pierce
Warnecke curated with Manuela Benetton
(presented also as the final project of Pierce´s Meisterschüler

“In order to better understand us, a machine of non-human origin
appears in our reality.
Its function seems to be to study the peculiarities of its new
surroundings, done by scanning objects and elaborating an
audiovisual analysis of them. From it’s imaginary objective
viewpoint, the machine explores generative and degenerative
processes based on observed patterns it detects in our world,
which we interpret as audio and video streams.
The piece is also, in a sense, a homage to the science fiction
genre in its entirety, whether it be the intellectual, esteemed
and innovative side (Ryoji Ikeda,Andrei Tarkovsky) or the more
popular, clichéd or even ironic side (John Carpenter, Philip K.
Dick)” >> piercewarnecke.com

dear all,
good to hear all the good news about the
project getting in the final stage.
am a bit worried for the worms though, we
are approaching -12 for the nights. hope they
will survive! maybe we can ask to put them in
protected area at hkw for the nights?
about the compost tea - not sure i
understand properly...is it real tea made from
compost? sorry for silly question, but i am
not an expert in these things.
i was thinking though, maybe we could
insert into the interaction process the idea
of the 'composting idea', in the sense that it
is a transformation, in a way a kind of an
exchange. so maybe we give away the 'tea' in
an exchange for a 'thought' ( which we could
specify and relate to composting maybe?),
which could be fed back onto the website as
well?
just an idea, but of course i will be
ready/happy to contribute in the realization
as well.
for me any time on sunday before 3 pm would
work, monday as well.
till soon,
Andrea

Hi, alex
I would be so interested
to see how the compost tea
can be highlighted.
at my home here with my
parisian trashbin/composter,
i regularly 'harvest' tea
from the composter.
it's help growing a
avocado forest in my terrace

Dear
Shu Lea and worm composters,
Awesome, thanks for the
update. So great to see how
this project has evolved!
I've been so swamped with
work and one illness after
another, I haven't been able
to truly participate in a
more active way.
As just a spontaneous idea
to maybe generate more
interaction on site, I was
thinking it would be cool to
offer compost tea to
give/sell to people at HKW-
like little glass or plastic
containers (I could ask our
lab) and labels with
"ingredients" of the
microbes living in there and
directions for use.
If any one thinks its a good
idea and wants to help (no
time to organize that alone)
we could get together next
Sunday/Monday before the
opening to prepare materials
and set-up.
snow angel greetings to all!
Alex
PS @ Shu Lea and Ayumi: I
would really love to
interview you both
(individually) about art and
compost if you have some
time during Transmediale.
Please let me know!
