dear adoptors
I feel that a micro-mini community is sprouting around the rotten elements.
It's a great pleasure to be following the mini blog that you are keeping.
As the winter appoarches, or yeah, here, I have also been preparing for
the performance event during transmediale2013. There are two
events being organized.
(1) a performance that bring together the concept of
composting the city|composting the net
(2) a meeting/panel to venture into techno-ecologies, open lab in open fields,
networking the green collectives+++++
for (1) performance, we would have 4 people to make together.
here is a brief write up for it.
(still words in process)
"COMPOSTING THE CITY | COMPOSTING THE NET examines the parallel
process of fermentation and fragmentation with daily bio-produce and
shared digital commons. By proposing the composting process can be
applied both to the materials (body residue, food scrapes, paper
documents) and the immaterial (info-data, net archive), the
composting performance writes its own worm codes while rendering
data noise generated by our collective data postings.
This performance brings together Martin Howse, who applies analogue
circuits and earthboot to translate temperature and
moisture/electrochemicals of the compost/worms/rotten properties to
sound; Ayumi Matsuzaka, who deposits her own personal body waste
(i.e. hair, nails, urine) into her practice of Terra Preta black soil
composting. Ewelina Aleksandrowicz, who renders net data as data
noise, its ever-fluctuating frequencies live-coding data spectrum,
further expands Shu Lea Cheang's matter-of-factly shuffling of
archived data, mainly of mailing lists' (i.e. nettime, spectre,
empire) postings."
As some of you have had a chance to meet Ayumi already, I would also
like to ask if you would agree
to join the performance in working through the act of composting with ayumi.
Mostly, i would also like to list all of your names as part of the
performance and to appear in the transmediale
catelogue, would this be ok?
Please check the names listed on the credit page and tell me if these
are the names you would like to appear.

for (2) a meeting/panel to venture into techno-ecologies, open lab in
open fields,
networking the green collectives+++++
Surely love to have all of you present for discussion, but if you
like to suggest someone
to join, please let me know. I am hoping to bring some EU initiatives
on green fields connection.
Also, please note that we will be moving the composter units to HKW
by end of january.
surely we can also talk about how you like to contribute your compost
for the performance.
We should be making some crest growing tests to see how the compost
soil turn out also.
More planning to come
thanks much for taking the project into shape
